There are so many potential solutions here, just come up with one. I realized all of this when I checked out the app on my phone. I like the functionality of the app being able to control my Hero8 from my phone, and view my videos after recording them.
I concluded that the best way to manage and edit videos was to insert SD cards into my computer and edit them from there. Quick unedited uploads to YouTube are easy from the Android app. But when it comes time for me to edit, splice etc. That doesn't bother me at all. Open the video on the GoPro phone app. Select the icon, at the top, that looks like an upload button then select "Save to Photos". That puts it into your iPhone photo gallery where you can access it easily. I then transfer my videos to a SanDisk Wi-Fi stick and delete the videos from the phones gallery, app and GoPro to save space.
Hope that helps. Works for me. HW is fine but app, it is useless. Statistics show that best companies are actually grown by best developers and manegers.
It says I have to copy to phone which then app refuse because there is no storage left. If this app goes to win world most paradoxial functional efectivness competion, it will win! At this point it is abundantly clear that GoPro expect us to pay for a solution to a problem that they created.
Even worse is that the GoPro solution is both a poorer version of and ancillary to the cloud solutions we already have. Today I decided to try what new updated mobile apllication I never used before and wanted to try that cloud I got free with gopro9.
I still hate gopro software. Business is business. Hopefully, I cancelled subsctiption properly. Unfortunately, mobile app is the only way to add a map or speedometer to a video.
The Quick app doesn't work for anyone. It's been half a year ago. Any news? What was the conclusion and decission made by the Product team? Double the time and double the space I need on my phone. This is not user and eco friendly at all. By this process you basically own my videos till the last step, where I save it to phone. I get it that you want more cloud users and subscribers. Provide a good service with a reasonable price and you will have it.
The current solution has a terrible UX. If there will be no change I will use my PC to load my files instead and stop using the app. You maybe wonder, why I don't use your cloud service. Because I upload my phone, camera and gopro images to photos to keep them at the same place in cronological order. I would use a GoPro service which would help me to create fancy videos fast not that slow as it is on my phone by usage and not by subscription monthly fee. Gopro App hides video location?

Message 17 of 41 12, Views. Message 18 of 41 12, Views. I just got a hero 8 after my hero 5 went missing on a trip. Now I'm faced with the most frustrating and idiotic UX decision I've encountered in a long while. Forcing users to save media to their mobile device "in the app" then "saving to phone" so that the files can actually be accessed by other apps or from a computer is frankly moronic.
Now the files consume twice the storage to access them - which when you're talking about gigabytes of data on a device with limited and often non-expandable storage is plain stupid - thanks GoPro. Which genius came up with that as a plan, and more importantly which genius supported it and said "that's a great idea, let's do that".
Clearly this is a drive to get your users to subscribe to the cloud storage option, but after people have spent hundreds on the device in the first place is nothing but cold and filthy greed. I'm sure you can tell I'm frustrated, which would be putting it mildly. I won't be buying another GoPro if this design decision doesn't get reversed, it's just bad design and speaks volumes about how much GoPro care about their customers.

Thank you for your response at that time. Make the files available to download to the phone as accessible files. Again, nothing for you to implement. Just do it as you know it should have been done. Make your cloud service better than our exisiting and you will have earned the customers money. So you said you were listening. So are we. We'd very much like an update. Message 24 of 41 12, Views.
This is stupid way to force us to buy the membership for your clud things. We don't want to buy your cloud membership as long as we buy your camera and your expensive accessories. All we want to save the go pro contents into the phone sd card. I make a claim about this and I hope you gonna change the way how the go pro app store the videos in the phone because it's ruin our phone memory Message 25 of 41 11, Views.

Cant even make an app properly? Do your developer even think? Or do they just ignore the consumer? I think this issue is just common sense? I want my video downloaded to phone period! Why do i need to tranfer it first to the app then download it again to my phone? What kind of moronic person thinks this is waaay better? Every other app i know doesn't do that? Xiaomi, Supremo even those cheap brand x action cam does not do that!

Both the apps together act as an incredibly amazing tool for advanced video editing of your GoPro shots. So, while you can do some basic editing like creating short clips right in the GoPro app, when it comes to more advanced features like Flux Motion Control, Fish Eye Adjustment, etc.
Here are some initial steps that you need to follow in order to get started with GoPro Studio. Now, follow these three easy steps to create an awesome video from your raw GoPro footage. This will make all the clips ready for Step 2: Edit. Click on Step 2: Edit at the top of the window.

In this step, you can do some great editing, like adding music to the footage, using filters and effects to make your end result more appealing. Name the video file and save it to the desired destination on your desktop. You can also share your final video on Facebook or Youtube directly from the app.
This will show your newly exported video. It is usable even for beginners. However, the GoPro app is just a basic video editing app. Plus, the GoPro app is mainly suitable for short minute videos only.
So, if working with longer videos, you risk facing issues like the app freezing or crashing frequently. Therefore, for beginners who want quick editing, the GoPro App provides a great solution. Save my name, email, and website in this browser for the next time I comment.
