No doubt about it, Capcom's poured the best of its creative juices into designing this triumphant SNES debut. There's plenty of room for improvement in the future and you can bet there will be sequels ad nauseum! But for now, take Mega Man X and call in sick tomorrow!
In the 21st century, Dr. Light has finally invented a perfect race of robots. In fact, they are so advanced that they have been given the same rights as any human. However, some of the robots malfunctioned and have begun to form a rebellion against the people of earth.
Their dissension immediately sparked the formation of a worldwide robot defense force - the RoboPolice. They now join Mega Man to lead an attack against Sigma and his evil plans of genocide. It's about time! Not only is Mega Man finally on the Snes, but he also now has ten titles overall - that's way more than even Mario or Sonic!
This meg cart also marks the beginning of a whole new line of adventures that follow a different path than the original games. For example, you won't find Dr. Wily appearing in the Snes series. There's also brand-new play enhancements that are exclusive to the Snes. And, as usual, Capcom's bit graphics and sound are simply amazing. Nobody knows Mega Man inside and out like us! Mega Man now can climb walls by repeatedly bouncing up against them. This is a handy trick that you'll use almost as much as your gun.
At the start of the game you come face to face with your enemy, but he's too powerful for you. Don't worry - you'll get another chance. Mega Man is back! This time, he is set way into the future, where he is the basic design principal for all the robots of that time.
However - as expected - things go wrong. So Mega Man must come to the rescue. In this version, he has a new friend that does not play a major role, but informs him of upcoming dangers. There are also pieces of add-on equipment that Dr. Light has left for you from the past, like armor and dash boots. This has got to be one of the best 8- to Bit conversions to date! Mega Man X is one of the best action game on any system anywhere. The action and graphics are superb. I like the fact that you can power-up the weapons you collect from your opponents. The only complaints I have are with the lack of challenge. The game goes by too quickly, and I don't care for having to play that one level first either. Overall, this is a game that shouldn't be missed. It's loads of fun.
Let's start off by saying that this game is no simple 8-Bit translation. What we have here is the ultimate in action games. Mega Man X is packed with so much strategy and incredible weapon power-ups, you'll wonder why games aren't made like this everyday! Superb graphics and a great soundtrack complement perfect play control. If you're looking for one game this year, you needn't search any farther.
It's been a long time since I really enjoyed a good action platform game. This game took everything that made the previous MM games so good and totally improved upon them. The excellent graphics have some butt-kicking effects mixed with stereo music and sound. The new Bosses are very cool with their awesome attacks. As the world recovers, a Maverick known only as the «Zero Nightmare» has begun spreading chaos.
Zero's comrade Mega Man X, curious of its name, seeks out this new threat. Like past games in the series, Mega Man X6 is an action-platformer in which the player tackles a series of stages and adds the unique weapon of each boss to X's arsenal.
