Like the rest of the games in the Super Mario universe, Luigi's Mansion has a simple yet interesting narrative. After winning a contest that he never remembers entering, Luigi goes to collect his reward: a brand new mansion. When he arrives, the mansion looks abandoned and creepy, covered in shadows and looking particularly ominous.
After a few moments inside, Luigi discovers that the mansion is severely haunted, full of dangerous ghosts. Luckily, Luigi is saved by Professor E Gadd, a mad scientist with an invention perfect for the job. The Professor provides Luigi with the Poltergust , a high-tech vacuum capable of containing rogue spirits.
With his new weapon on his back and a flashlight in hand, Luigi heads into the mansion and attempts to eliminate the spirits within. Luigi's Mansion follows a simple and straightforward formula that's easy for even the newest of gamers to understand. Playing from a third-person perspective, you control Luigi as you explore the many themed rooms of the mansion. Most of the doors are locked at the start, limiting where you can explore.
You can find room keys by clearing other unlocked rooms of ghosts, using your vacuum to suck them up. The structure of the game feels reminiscent of horror games like Resident Evil , while providing wacky antics more similar to a Ghostbusters game.

Well I couldn't replicate the Jarvis text bug, everything seemed to work after getting up there, but I did find a bug with the flash light after vaccuming.
It would only turn back on, if you held down the button, but just simply tapping it, makes it completely stop, and you'll have to manually switch it back on. You need to go into the files to start the game, after having it converted. Then, just highlight all and launch, I think. Looking at the game again, I feel that the Plant-ghost-thing is probably too hard to be in the first mansion, especially with the changes that have been made.
Hearts aren't exactly easy to find, and it doesn't help that the hearts have been removed to replace fireballs at certain moments during the boss. I feel that you should probably regain your hearts on death as well, because I remember at one point I was stuck on 6 hp for a long time. Other than that, the game's still great. Also does anyone else think that it would be amazing if elh made some sort of appearance in the game, even if it's just a minor easter egg appearance ie a background element or inanimate object or on a screen in Egadd's lab?

It's one of the best I've ever seen! The ghosts are well-programmed and the puzzles are a bit TOO complicated.
I got stuck in the bathroom. But still, this is amazing! I wish Nintendo would plan a 2D Luigi's Mansion sometime! I've found a bug where Luigi will go behind the plant boss and instantly take damage until you die when he gets too close. Maybe fix this in the next update? Anyway, I hope the next update will be released soon! I've already completed both of the demos so far, so it would be nice to see what the next mansion will be like, prison and all!
I guess you could add that you have to tap repeatedly on the key board in the opposite direction for people to feel more satisfactory when sucking a ghost. This game is really awesome and i wish the best of luck to you in the future. Loved the game, although I wish health drops were more consistent because I was running low towards Jarvis Even after harassing every piece of furniture up to that point.
This was great! I'm a huge fan of Luigi's Mansion, so when I saw this I instantly downloaded it. The game transitions surprisingly well to 2D, and there's many references to the original Luigi's Mansion in this. Some room layouts are similar to the original, and it even has cameo bosses that need to be defeated in new ways. Props to the developer! First, only if copyrighted material. Second, I didn't convert it from youtube, the artist offically released the track.
This is a very good game, only problem is that I can't figure out how to change the screen size, if anybody knows how please inform me, thanks in advance! In addition to that, you can also use ResizeEnable and resize the window manually. That was already useful to me a few times, in particular the reason I downloaded it was Metroid Nexus. I'd expect LM2D to scale with the window size. Rushing me is not going to make it come any faster if that's what you're asking.
