So I installed it as a test to see how it compares to DC Pro, and it's just as bad. The viewer window is dominated by a big, red "Convert" button which apparently installs a day trial of Acrobat DC Pro, and an optional "Sign In" on the top right. The Save As window is especially confusing, with a couple of online options you might not even have. To save normally requires pressing a second, "Other" button. Like Pitbull, I immediately deleted it using the free AppCleaner app a must-have, 5-star utility.
Only ever install this briefly for something critical that doesn't work properly in Preview - use it, then delete it. HandyMac Jun 15 As we know, Adobe Reader is buggy, insecure bloatware; I keep an old version around for just one task: to determine which fonts are embedded in a PDF. Preview doesn't give this information, neither do Skim or PDFpen. Does anybody know of a free PDF viewer which can show this information?
Also helpful would be a PDF viewer which allows wildcard searches; so far as I can tell from Adobe's chaotic website, Reader does not, nor do Preview or Skim. That is a good thing. But if your code is that broken, the best advice is: do not use this software.
